Structural & Façade Engineering
The Selima Medical College Hospital utilizes a modern building envelope to support its sustainable and aesthetic goals.
- Façade System: A sophisticated Semi-unitized Façade System with silicone glazing. This system allows for high-precision factory assembly and a seamless, "all-glass" exterior look that enhances the building's contemporary identity.
- Canopy System: The project features a specialized canopy system at the main entrances, designed to provide weather protection while serving as a structural focal point.
- Structural Form: The building is characterized by bold interlocked rectangles, a design choice that not only creates a unique visual profile but also helps in distinguishing the main functional components of the campus (e.g., academic vs. clinical zones) to aid in orientation.
- Sustainability: The façade and building orientation are optimized to promote energy efficiency and maximize natural light, which is critical for the recovery process and reducing the operational carbon footprint of the hospital.

Key Features & Design Philosophy
- Patient-Centric Spaces: The interior layout prioritizes a friendly, healing environment with clear wayfinding and natural light to reduce patient stress and facilitate recovery.
- Infection Control: A core pillar of the design is the separation of traffic flows. By providing distinct routes for different users, the architecture physically supports the hospital’s hygiene and safety protocols.
- Integrated Campus: The campus is designed as a unified whole, seamlessly connecting the academic medical college with the clinical hospital facilities to foster a collaborative environment for students and healthcare professionals.
- Urban Landmark: The massive built-up area and striking geometric architecture make it a significant landmark in the Kushtia region, symbolizing the advancement of healthcare infrastructure outside of Dhaka.
